HUGE MISTAKE (ladies answer)?

sup ladies well its this girl (yet again) a different girl. I like her but i dont want to date her sooo i asked her can we be friends..... WITH BENIFITS she went psycho i waz jus kidding but half way serious at the same time jus to see wat she'll say. this happened like last week and now we dont even talk she told all her girlfriends and they all hate me 4 it.. she deleted me from her myspace she hates me she thinks i told the whole high school dat we had already but i only told 1 person that we were ABOUT 2. now i cant trust any1. females waz i wrong 4 askin? waz i wrong 4 tellin mi friend about it? or is she wrong 4 gittin sooo upset? HOW DID EVERY1 find out about in the 1st place? please help......
