Why did Itunes turn my albums into tracks?

That information is pulled from online so if it isn't there, you apparently weren't connected to the internet. There is no automatic way to correct it now. Your options are to edit the FILES and then redirect iTunes to each file location, or to import them again being sure you have an internet connection and that the information is there before you proceed.
