How to support my Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 AF (Push Pull type) lens?

Do NOT go cheap on a tripod. You will regret that decision. And places like wolf camera are good to purchase one from, but do NOT buy one of their off brand (quantaray) tripods, even the pro model. Been there, done that, and it SUCKS! Go with a good brand like Bogen/Manto. They have many different models, in the $100-$150 range, with or without a head that will do well for what you need. I recommend a ball head with quick release that will support at least 6 pounds and that wil be sufficient.
